Work to Learn, Not to Earn – The Beginning of My Law School Journey

I was recently interviewed for the Law School Insider Podcast with Dr. Christopher Lewis.  It was a fun interview and we covered a lot of ground.  The interview focused on my transition from working full-time to going back to school full-time and how I intentionally reinvented myself at age 30.

Dr. Lewis asked some great questions.  The interview itself is oriented around an educational experience (mine) but I know that pretty much everything I said can be applied to any type of reinvention – even for non-lawyers.

Listen to this podcast if you are interested in any of the following:

  • What my number one goal in law school was
  • The number one question to ask at the beginning of any reinvention process
  • How one website led to three job offers before I even graduated AND how one picture changed my life
  • How to set yourself apart from the crowd
  • How I became a pseudo-celebrity at my law school (my personal favorite)
  • How to never feel bad if you do not receive a job offer
  • How I started networking 10 years before I started law school

  • You simply want to hear my beautiful, deep voice while you fall asleep!

Dr. Lewis focused on one of my favorite quotes of all time:

Work to learn, not to earn.  Once you learn, you will eventually earn.
